cIONM in Thyroid Surgery - October 13th - 14th
This course focuses on the use of continuous IONM during thyroid surgeries. After a brief introduction into basic aspects (e.g., true loss-of-signal vs. artefacts), experienced users demonstrate hands-on the application of cIONM, including tips and tricks and potential pit-falls.
• Get to know IONM basics and advanced methods
• Learn how to apply intermittent and continuous neuromonitoring of the vagus nerve, recurrent laryngeal nerve and superior laryngeal nerve
• Shadow a live surgery and see the use of (c)IONM in thyroidectomies
IONM in spinal surgery - September 22nd - 23rd
The course „IONM in spinal surgery“ will take place again this year - and for the first time in English language! It will be held from September 22th – 23th in the University Hospital Heidelberg AND online – which makes it possible to attend from anywhere.
In this course you will be introduced to the monitoring of motor and somatosensory pathways as well as learn how direct stimulation of nerve roots can monitor neural functions during a procedure and reduce the risk of post-operative dysfunction.
Functional Neurosurgery - October 24th - 25th
The popular course „Functional Neurosurgery“ will take place again this year. From October 24th – 25th Neurosurgeons and Neurologists, get the opportunity to join this hybrid course either on site in Emmendingen or online.
The course is aimed at neurosurgeons and neurologists with an interest in the basics of movement disorder and epilepsy surgery (course language is English). Experts from the field will share their experience, and hands-on workshops, simulations, and case discussions will allow you to directly apply what you have learned.
